NEWTONMORE
The Walking Centre of Scotland

Duration: 1 hour

Elevation Change : + 200ft

A lovely walk through crofting land, beside the Allt Laraidh
falls (Allt Laraidh  - the mare's burn) and attractive natural
woodland.

Rare orchids may be seen here in May and June and The ground is carpeted with primroses in the spring. The burn has trout and sea trout fry.  The Allt Laraidh is a dynamic
waterway.  Floods  in December 2006 necessitated a change in the the route of the Wildcat Trail.

At the bottom of the valley the trail joins the road back to the vollage centre or you can continue the trail to the next section alongside the River Spey - Go to Next Section
